by Catharina Bowers Well, I am delighted to let you know that "Got Your Affairs in Order?" is now out and available as a book and an E-book from Amazon. This was written out of a personal need, and the more I thought about it, the stronger my resolve became to write it as part of my self-discovery journey. It is coming out in 2024 with the updated book titled "Get Your Affairs in Order." Had my mother had a Power of Attorney and a Will, we would have had the discussion about her wishes while planning her funeral, which could have contributed to our spiritual growth. We would have approached things differently. After Mom's funeral mass, I realized we had made a mistake, leaving us with the sad feeling that we could have created a much more meaningful tribute for a woman taken too soon. There was nothing personal mentioned. We should have asked more questions at the funeral home during the planning process. This experience inspired the book, so I would know better next time I had to plan a funeral. Fortunately, we were able to organize a much more meaningful celebration for my Dad, who passed away in 2002. This book will provide the tools you need to plan effectively.

There are new books in the works that will explore themes of fibromyalgia support, self-discovery journeys, and spiritual growth. Titles and publishing dates will be updated soon.
These blogs emerged from my life and work experiences, first as a mother and Oma to five wonderful grandchildren, and secondly as a minister and hospital chaplain. Through these roles, I learned a lot about myself, particularly during my self-discovery journey.
The blog developed around the same time as my ministry at Trinity United Church in Magnetawan. The congregation was welcoming, friendly, and a beautiful collection of warm and loving souls. I found a little niche there that nurtured my spiritual growth. Then COVID came!
On August 29th, I celebrated the first anniversary of my Reflections101 blog. To my surprise, I received an email from the owner of The Great North Arrow Newspaper inviting me to write for their publication.
I am honoured to be part of this amazing community here in Dunchurch. The air is fresh, and the trees, rocks, and lakes are magnificent. Living here is truly a phenomenal treat.
I began writing seriously back in the early 1990s when I embarked on my journey into self-discovery. I met Hasai Aliev, a Russian doctor who developed a unique relaxation technique called The Key. Little did I know that this would change my life for the better.
I started journaling and discovered that writing down my feelings was incredibly cathartic. My life became much more enjoyable, and I developed a yearning to learn about self-improvement, wellness, controlling my pain, and enhancing my spirituality.
Having always been a visiting volunteer at my local hospital in Ajax, ON, this experience led me to formally study to become a chaplain and then an ordained minister. The intense learning was satisfying, and I realized I had been given a great gift when I began working with ill patients and comforting their families. I truly found my calling.
There are many insights I would like to share with you. I discovered talents I wasn't aware of when my self-discovery journey began.
As a visitor here, you're invited to become part of a fantastic community. I will be sharing my experiences with you through my blogs. I am also eager to learn about you. My hope is to offer inspiration, motivation, and the courage to reflect on yourself, just as I have over the years. Perhaps the answers and questions we explore will encourage us to grow and develop into even more spiritual individuals, unafraid of the adventure ahead. If you’ve read this far, send me a friend request on Facebook. I have a group with the same name, Reflections101.
Thank you so much for being part of this community. There are many ways you can become more involved. Keep coming back and feel free to share your comments, questions, and suggestions.
I will be authentic, transparent, and compassionate. I will not avoid difficult topics if they need to be addressed. My aim is to be informative, honest, and humorous when appropriate.
Please subscribe to the Reflections101 blog.
With Kind Reflections,
Catharina
